Emergency Planning
We work together with other organisations to ensure that if an
emergency takes place we are prepared. A recent example of an
emergency planning situation was during the floods
of July 2007. We had to quickly work with partners to
help our communities during the widespread flooding across the
district.
Our emergency plan sets out what our responsibilities are and
what we would would do if an emergency took place. A key part
of this is ensuring that services are maintained in areas that are
unaffected.
In the event of an emergency we would work
with:
- Emergency services
- Worcestershire County Council
- Other District Council's
- Worcestershire County Council
- Utility companies
- Health Agencies
- Armed forces
- Voluntary organisations
We have signed up to a Memorandum of Understanding within
Worcestershire with the County Council and the other five District
Councils. To part fund a small specialised team of Emergency
Planners at the County Council to support us in our duties under
the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).
More information and advice on Emergency Planning is provided by
Worcestershire County Council.
