The Blossom Trail Bikeaway - Sunday 15th April
On 14th April 2011 cyclists came out of hibernation, and
dusted off their bikes to take part in the annual Blossom
Trail Bikeaway. The sponsored bike ride is abck,
starting at Raphael’s restaurant (Hampton Ferry) located in Boat
Lane, Evesham. The routes been designed to follow the famous
Vale of Evesham Spring Blossom Trail, which is promoted by Wychavon
District Council and signposted by the AA. The event is now
in its 16th year and has grown in popularity over the years. We are
delighted to have been invited to use Raphael’s as our venue and
also to introduce new routes. All monies raised helped St John
Ambulance provide voluntary first aid support at numerous local
events.
Event organiser Angela Tidmarsh said “The
Blossom Trail Bikeaway is a major event in the Divisions’ diary and
we are thrilled that so many people get so much pleasure from
cycling around the Vale countryside – Please join us this

The Bredon Hill Bikeaway
On the 23rd of October " The Bredon
Hill Bikeaway‟ took place - which was once again a huge
success.
More than 100 cyclists took part in the annual
Bredon Hill Bikeaway on Sunday. Organised by the Pershore
Division of St John Ambulance and supported by Wychavon District
Council and Deer Park Hall, Nr Eckington, cyclists from around the
region took part Basking in the autumnal sunshine,
cyclists of all ages cycled almost 3500 miles around the
Worcestershire countryside and raised approx. £1500 for the
Division.
Tony Haines, Divisional Superintendent said
“Huge thanks once again to everyone who took part in Sundays’ event
– we are so grateful for all their support and generosity.
Cyclists travelled from all over the West Midlands and
Gloucestershire to take part and without exception, it seems
everyone had a great time. The location of Deer Park is
outstanding – thanks to Caron and Mark Steele for allowing us
to hold the event there and thankfully we were lucky with the
weather so everyone could enjoy the views”
Walking around Wychavon
Enjoy the delights of the Worcestershire countryside, not from
the comfort of your car, but by walking along beautiful country
lanes, that link one delightful village with the next. Feel the
freedom of the acres of open countryside, with glorious views to
the Cotswolds, the Malverns and Bredon Hill. To get the best from
your walks in this attractive part of England, why not follow the
Wychavon Way, a 42 mile walk that runs through Worcesteshire's
Heritage Garden from Holt Fleet near Droitwich Spa, to Winchcombe
where it joins up with the Cotswold Way.
This specially adapted walk passes through picturesque villages,
across rivers, up hills and during Spring time through the famous
Blossom Trail around the Vale of Evesham. If 42 miles seems too
strenuous, why not try one of our circular walks suitable for all
the family. The walks range 2.5 to 18 miles through some of the
most attractive scenery Worcestershire has to offer.

Cycling around Wychavon
Worcesteshire's Heritage Garden, an area which typifies rural
England, from the mellow Cotswolds to the ancient Malvern Hills a
scene of rolling countryside, tranquil rivers, historic towns and
villages linked by a network of quiet lanes and byways - what
better way to appreciate all of this than from a bicycle.
Cycling allows you to travel at your own pace, amidst the black
and white timbered framed buildings in the north of the area to the
fruit and vegetable growing country of the Vale of Evesham - (why
not follow the signs for the Blossom Trail?) to the honey coloured
wonders of the Cotswolds.
Once a year the Blossom Trail Bikeaway is
organised in April to help raise funds for St John Ambulance,
whilst guiding cyclists on 4 different length routes to experience
the famous Blossom. The routes can be enjoyed outside of the event,
