A wide range of services and advice is available for businesses
from the Council. Professional advice from Economic Development,
Planning, Environmental Services, Recycling and Business Rates is
here to encourage local businesses to start-up and grow, and to
help established businesses with issues that affect their
trading.

Revenues are responsible for the administration and collection
of Business Rates payable on business rated properties such as
offices, shops and industrial units. For information on your
business rates, and your eligibility for small business rate relief

Valuation of businesses is the responsibility of the Valuations
Office (part of Her Majesty’s Revenues and Customs). You can log on
to the Valuation Office Agency website or the
Governments own website at http://www.mybusinessrates.gov.uk/.
Trade waste provides advice to
businesses on the type of service required including hired bins in
several sizes, weekly sack collections and one off special
collections of bulky waste.
Wychavon District Council has
launched two new grant schemes to support both new and existing
businesses. Both schemes are jointly funded by Wychavon
District Council and Worcestershire County Council.

Wychavon Business Start up
Grant
aims to support new businesses in the Wychavon
District. The scheme will encourage the occupation of vacant
commercial premises, help regenerate town centres, stimulate
entrepreneurship, create new jobs, and enhance the sustainability
of new businesses.
You can apply for a grant of up to £500, or up
to £750 if you are moving into business premises that are liable to
business rates. The grant must be match-funded, pound for pound
from your business’s own resources. Only capital expenditure is
eligible.

ARE YOU GROWING YOUR BUSINESS?
Wychavon Business Booster
Grant
aims to help Wychavon based businesses which
have been established for more than one year, and need assistance
to help them make a step change in their development. Only
businesses which show specific promise and clearly demonstrate how
the award will make a measurable difference will be recommended for
a grant.
You can apply for a grant of up to £2,000
which must be match-funded, pound for pound from your business’s
own resources. Only capital expenditure is
eligible.
