Food Hazard Alerts
National food alerts are published by the Food Standards Agency.
These alerts may relate to a particular batch of food, which is
being recalled as a precautionary measure, or they may be general
warnings about products available which may pose a serious threat
to health and are being distributed through unknown channels.
National and local press normally carry details about food
alerts on the Food Standards Agency
website.
Sometimes, alerts will involve local produce and in this case,
we will issue our own press release.
Notification that food does not comply with food safety
requirements
Food business operators are required to notify the Food
Standards Agency (FSA) and their local authority where they
consider or have reason to believe that food does not comply with
food safety requirements. Notification can be completed
online to the
FSA and by sending a copy of the notification to
environmental.health@wychavon.gov.uk
or by fax to 01386 561826.
If you wish to discuss whether notification is required please
contact one of our Food Safety Officers on 01905 822799.
