What is NLPG?
IDeA’s subsidiary Local Government Information House Ltd (LGIH)
entered a joint venture agreement with Property Intelligence plc
(PI). The joint venture means PI’s Intelligent Addressing
consultancy unit (IA) will create an embryo National Land and
Property Gazetteer (NLPG) from a number of national address
datasets which will then be fine tuned with the input from Local
Authorities.
The NLPG has now been created for England and Wales and is being
used by the National Land Information System (NLIS) to automate the
search aspect of the conveyancing process. The NLPG is made up from
two distinct sources which have been merged and matched together to
form its composite structure. These sources are:
- (i) existing local authorities that have submitted their own
BS7666 compliant (Local Land and Property Gazetteers (LLPGs) to the
NLPG hub
- (ii) national datasets provided by the Valuation Office
(Council Tax and Non Domestic Rates); ADDRESSPOINT for some
co-ordinate information; the National Street Gazetteer, and a
commercial property gazetteer provided by Property Intelligence
plc.
Wychavon have now completed its LLPG and submitted to the NLPG.
The original database created for Wychavon has now been
substituted with our own LLPG which we are now maintaining
by daily updates to the national hub.
