Water Management Advisory Note for Householders and other
Developments
The Water Management Supplementary Planning Document was adopted by
Wychavon District Council on 13 October 2009.
Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) have a responsibility to take
account of water – in both flooding and drainage matters as
material considerations in the determination of planning
applications for new developments. They are also required to
consult with the relevant Water Authority, Environment Agency and
Highway Authority, each of whom has a responsibility for giving
approval to different drainage proposals. Wychavon District
Council is therefore adopting an integrated approach to water cycle
management that aims to manage all of the components of the water
cycle (rainwater, stormwater, sewage, ground water, surface water
and recycled water) to secure a range of social, economic and
environmental benefits.
The Water Management Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) 2009
adopted by WychavonDistrict Council (WDC) requires a Water
Management Statement (WMS) to accompany all planning applications
where water will be used and/or disposed of.
The purpose of the leaflets is to explain
the requirements of a WMS for various types of
development.
The above advisory leaflets, will
help you on you way in producing a statement to accompany your
planning application: (Please ensure you read the
leaflet)
