Protecting Evesham’s Heritage

Wychavon District Council is reviewing the Evesham Conservation Area and wants residents to get involved.

Evesham dates back to the Saxon and Medieval periods and much of what we see today in the town centre and around Port Street has its roots in that early development over a thousand years ago.

Carol Marsden, Senior Conservation Officer said "This is a great opportunity to review the conservation area in Evesham and we’re keen to hear residents views on our plans. This piece of work will continue to help us ensure that Evesham is protected for future generations to come."

Part of the work will look at changing the conservation area boundary including Cowl and Oat Street, to ensure the right areas are being protected especially when it comes to making planning decisions in the area.

A presentation about the review, with questions will take place at the Public Hall in the Riverside Centre in Evesham on 19th June at 7pm.

There will be an exhibition at Evesham Library from the 18th June to 30th July for view during normal library opening hours.

Information will also be available at our Evesham Community Contact Centre and at the Civic Centre in Pershore.
