Wychavon's Local Plan

A key responsibility of the District Council is to make decisions on planning issues including building on land or changing its use. These planning decisions need to be made in accordance with an up to date Local Plan.

The Council adopted the Local Plan on 23rd June 2006. There were no High Court Challenges to the Local Plan during the statutory 6-week period. An up to date text version of the Plan is now available, please click on the link below.

 

Saved Local Plan Policies:

The current local plan was adopted on 23 June 2006. The new planning system allows for the local plan to be valid for a period of 3 years from the date of adoption (i.e. up to 23 June 2009). Wychavon made an application to the Secretary of State (via the Government Office for the West Midlands - GOWM) to save a number of policies in the local plan beyond the date of adoption.

On 29 May 2009 the Government Office for West Midlands have confirmed that; as of the 23rd June 2009, the following Local Plan policies are not saved.

RES2  Renewable Energy Facilities

RES3  Minimising Waste

RES5  Housing Density

RES6  Conversion of Upper Floors

ENV20 Development likely to give rise to pollution or the risk of Pollution

ENV21 Bad Neighbour Uses

ENV23 Development Involving Hazardous Substances

COM6  Gypsy Sites - New Provision

SUR5   Advertisements

ECON8  Farm Diversification

ECON16 Food and Drink Retail
