Licensing in Wychavon
The licensing unit administers most of the licences that
Wychavon District Council are responsible for. The majority of
licences that we issue are to keep the public safe.
We take pride in delivering an excellent service with a personal
touch: in line with Wychavon's priorities and
promises, we try to encourage thriving business by the
decisions that we make and the advice and support that we make
freely available to businesses and public alike.
2010 will be a year of change for us here in the Licensing
Unit as plans go ahead for us to be incorporated into a shared
service working with county wide with Environmental Services and
Trading Standards.
We currently work with local Police, the Fire Service, and all
other Council departments. Our staff work with licensing teams in
other local authorities, both within Worcestershire and nationally,
to keep Wychavon towards the leading edge of licensing
administration and enforcement.

Delivery of applications to us:
Temporary Event Notices - if you are sending us two copies of a
TEN, please don't try to squeeze it in to a small envelope with an
ordinary "letter" stamp, as that is likely to incur an excess
postage charge and delivery is delayed. You are likely to
need a large envelope and a "large letter" stamp - speak to post
office counter staff for advice. Alternatively, deliver the
Notice to us directly at the Civic Centre (especially if you are
short of time: delivery at our customer contact centres does not
count as the first day!). Remember that TEN's must be served
at least ten working days before the event, not including the day
of the event or the day that we receive it at the Civic Centre.
As well us Royal Mail's postal service, we are more than
happy for our customers who subscribe to the DX
service to send items to us at our DX address:
DX25934 Pershore.
If you would like to fax or email an urgent application to us,
please contact us on 01386 565016 in the first instance. You
will need to be able to make payment over the telephone by
credit/debit card.
Taxi Rank Relocation - Important News for Taxi
Drivers
We have been notified by the County Council that the Taxi Rank
in the High Street, Evesham is being relocated either today Friday
8th January, or during the weekend, and will move to the
where the Bus Station was.
You are likely to be in this location for a
period of two months, whilst work is carried out on the new taxi
rank sites. There will be signage and bays will be marked
out.
There is a slight possibility that you may
have to move again to another temporary location during those two
months. If that does happen, we will contact you
again.
The pedestrian crossing on High Street will
remain open at all times, with a footway diversion around the works
in phases 2 and 3 being provided later next week. The position of
this may well change slightly as construction proceeds.
If you have any queries, please do not
hesitate to contact us on (01386) 565016.
