Mortgage Rescue Scheme
Wychavon District Council is urging the growing number of
households facing difficulties in meeting their mortgage repayments
to contact them.
The Government has introduced a new scheme called Mortgage
Rescue, which will help homeowners who have exhausted all options
provided by their lender to stay in their home.
The scheme is designed to help families, the disabled and the
elderly with a home valued at around £160K and household income of
less than £60k per year. There are 2 options available - shared
equity or government mortgage to rent.
Elaine Salter, Housing Services Manager, said: "Helping
residents during the recession is a major priority for us and l
would encourage anyone who is having problems paying their mortgage
and who has exhausted all options with their lender to contact us
on 01386 565020 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Don't hesitate to ask for advice and find out if we can help at
this stressful time."
Residents and businesses are also encouraged to visit http://www.wychavon.gov.uk/,and
then go to the Wychavon Strikes Back section of the site for
further information on coping with the recession.
