Benefits calculator

Wychavon residents who think they may be eligible for benefits are being encouraged to use the online benefits calculator to find out what they could be eligible for before they apply for housing and council tax benefits.

The calculator asks questions about people’s outgoings, savings, childcare their earnings and personal circumstances. The added extra is that it ensures residents know whether it’s worth putting their time into putting in a full benefits application.

Nick Jefferies, Head of the Shared Service said “During these difficult times we still have a lot of residents who don’t apply that are eligible, but equally we are seeing some residents who are applying who are not eligible, for example because they have quite a lot of money in savings. By using the online benefits calculator residents can quickly see if it’s worth their time putting in an application.”

He continued ”Our teams are still working hard to process the increased amount of benefit applications so using this calculator will ensure they don’t waste their time.”
