Once again Wychavon District Council has been
recognised as a top council to work for.
Wychavon succeeded in coming 2nd
out of all the councils assessed in The Times
Best Places to Work in
the Public Sector on 11 March.
The awards looked at all organisations across
the public and private sector and this year the public sector was
expanded from just local government.
Councillor Paul Middlebrough, Leader of
Wychavon District Council, said: “We’re very proud that even during
these tough financial times we managed to keep our staff happy
and motivated. Staff are the greatest asset we have and the
better they perform the greater the benefit for our customers.
It is also a recognition of the achievement of the staff that
they rank so highly alongside not only councils but the whole range
of private companies and public sector organisations. I was
also delighted to see that Worcester University also achieved a top
result amongst public sector bodies.”
Jack Hegarty, Managing Director at Wychavon,
commented: “We’re so pleased to have done so well again in these
awards. The competition was much tougher this year and the impact
of the recession and other major changes in the sector have meant
that this result is a great success.”
The results were officially published in the Sunday Times
(Sunday 14 March).
