Get your share of £75,000
Wychavon is inviting residents to claim their
share of £75,000 for local community projects.
Every year, Wychavon’s Community Grants Scheme
focuses on one element of community life – this year’s theme is
children and young people.
But that does not exclude applications from
other aspects of community life, such as community buildings,
sports, play, arts – in fact any project that benefits the
community.
Tracy Grubb, Community Development Officer at
Wychavon, said: “We particularly want to fund innovative, new
projects that will make a lasting difference to the community and
improve the quality of life in Wychavon.
“Projects we have funded in the past include setting up youth
groups, village hall refurbishment, arts initiatives and many
different sports projects.”
Whatever the project is, the most
important things are that:
- it meets the local needs and benefits local
residents;
- it has community support;
- it is well planned and involves as many local people as
possible; and
- the full costs of the project can be met through grant aid and
other contributions.
Applications for Wychavon Community Grants
will be available from 1 March 2010. The closing date for
applications is noon on 28 May 2010. Applications will not be
accepted after this date under any circumstances.
