Clear! Wychavon staff taught to save
lives

Officer at Wychavon.
Wychavon staff were this week (5 March) learning how to revive
someone suffering from a heart attack when they received training
in how to use a defibrillator that will now be located in the Civic
Centre in Pershore.
Defibrillators are often found in shopping and leisure centres,
but Wychavon felt there was a need for one in their Pershore
offices so sent willing staff to enhance their first aiding
skills.
Kim Stallard, Personnel, Payroll and Development Manager
said “We’re very pleased to now have this lifesaving
facility on site in the building. Thanks to First Responder scheme
for their supply of the equipment. Whilst we hope we never to have
to use the defibrillator, this gives reassurance to our customers
and staff alike if ever there was such a need!’
Chris Kowalik, spokesman for West
Midlands Ambulance Trust said: “For every minute someone
is in cardiac arrest, their chance of survival reduces by ten
percent. That’s why it’s so vital to intervene early with CPR and,
if necessary, defibrillation while the ambulance is en route.”
