Abandoned kittens find a new home

Last Wednesday (23rd) Wychavon’s street cleaning crew, provided by FOCSA, won praise for their rescue some furry friends.

This time the rescue came in the shape of some abandoned kittens. The four kittens had been dumped in a cardboard box next to a bin in Bricklehampton, where Tom Jones, a member of the street cleansing team found them. They were taken back to the depot where staff fed them tuna from their sandwiches before kind hearted FOCSA staff decided to take them home and adopt them.

Cllr. Emma Stokes, Board member for the Environment and Contracted Out Services said “We’re pleased to hear that the FOCSA teams have come to the rescue yet again. The crews are such important members of the community and this rescue and re-homing illustrates this.”

Evesham Cats Protection today praised their actions in rescuing the kittens and have taken the opportunity to remind residents of their important work.

Angela Middleton, Co-ordinator at Evesham Cats Protection said “There is never a good reason for our feline friends to be abandoned in this way. Evesham Cats Protection will take in cats and kittens and find them a new home, help with neutering and advice for the new owners. Taking on any pet, especially at Christmas shouldn’t be taken lightly and if you’re considering getting a cat or kitten we’d welcome you to come to the Evesham Cats Protection as your first port of call.”

The Cats Protection League welcomes donations of food, especially at Christmas.
