20p for three!
Wychavon District Council is seeking to
attract shoppers to Broadway after the Christmas flurry through a
discounted parking initiative.
Three Fridays in February, the
10th, 17th and 24th, will see
visitors to Broadway paying a flat rate of just 20p for up to three
hours in short stay car park, at any time of the day.
Councillor Paul Middlebrough, Leader
of Wychavon, said: “Traders in Broadway felt that
Christmas was already a busy time of year, so they would prefer to
attract shoppers over the quieter month of February. Broadway has
so much to offer to its visitors and shoppers with a myriad of
independent traders offering unique products and great places to
eat and drink. Of course the brilliant play area offers fun for
children and adults alike and so the discounted parking will help
make the Broadway experience even better.”
Nigel Robinson, Chairman of the
Broadway Traders Association, said: "We appreciate the
very kind gesture by Wychavon District Council to reduce their car
parking charges in Broadway's short-term car park to only 20p for
three hours over the last three Fridays in February. We urge
visitors to take advantage of this half-term offer and to come and
visit Broadway with their families and friends."
Posters will be put up to advise visitors when
the changes will be taking place.
