Car park discount reaps economic rewards
A resident from Warwickshire has paid Wychavon
a compliment after she visited Evesham over Christmas.
Mrs Tebby, a resident from Kenilworth,
Warwickshire, was visiting Evesham in mid-December and was
delighted to find the parking was discounted.
Mrs Tebby said: “My husband
and I visited Evesham and were very pleased to take advantage of
the very reduced parking charges in December. This incentive to
shoppers during the Christmas period was very welcome and I can say
that we spent just short of £100 in the town - money that the
proprietors of Evesham benefitted from thanks to someone at your
offices. I will be writing to my local Council to tell them how it
should be done and using this as an example - a Council taking into
consideration the economic climate and its residents.
Congratulations!”
Councillor Paul Middlebrough, Leader
of Wychavon District Council, said: “It’s was very nice to
receive Mrs Tebby’s compliment and to hear that she spent money in
one of our towns, which was the clear incentive of the promotion.
We continue to support traders and local businesses and will
announce a package of initiatives in addition to this later in the
year.”
