‘Get Active’ prize draw survey winners

Wychavon has announced the prize draw winners of its 2013 ‘Get Active’ roadshow surveys.

Earlier in the year, the Council visited a number of events as part of its ‘Get Active’ campaign – a scheme that is designed to provide information about health and exercise and encourage people to participate in sport and art activities.

At the events, members of the public were encouraged to fill out a survey to help the Council identify what residents need across the district in terms of sport, art and health information.  Everyone who completed a survey was entered into a prize draw for one of three £50 prizes to spend in the towns of Droitwich, Evesham and Pershore.

The winners of the prize draw are Darryn Welsh (Droitwich), Angela Stanley (Evesham) and Geoffrey Edwards (Pershore). They each won a prize worth £50 to spend in their local town.

Over a busy five months, Wychavon’s Community Development team, helped by staff across the Council, visited 19 events.

The surveys gathered data from over 2,000 residents in total and over 400 people were given specific advice relating to health, local sports and finance, helping to ensure that they can all continue to ‘Get Active’.

Mark Williams, Sports Development Officer, said: “Our aims to get residents young and old active and stuck into sport, arts and crafts, and to generally increase exercise levels, have been achieved. Our survey results are now being analysed and they will help us to continue to improve the service we provide.”

Mark added: “We would like to thank everyone who kindly took the time to fill out the survey and congratulate the three lucky winners. We hope they enjoy spending their prize in their local High Street.”

The next event where residents will find the Wychavon Community Development Team will be the Sport Relief Mile in Pershore, which is on 23 March 2014.
