Sustainable Community Strategy For Worcestershire

The Worcestershire Single Sustainable Community Strategy for 2011 to 2021 has now been published.  The strategy outlines three countywide, strategic priorities: a skilled and prosperous economy; an environment that is cherished and resilient; and improving health and wellbeing.  Alongside these, the district Local Strategic Partnerships have identified their own priorities, which are set out alongside their own vision, challenges for the area and how they will deliver their priorities.

There are seven priorities for Wychavon, which were developed by the Wychavon Strategic Partnership:

1.      Supporting and improving the local economy.

2.      Developing skills and lifelong learning.

3.      Delivering housing that meets local needs.

4.      Reducing health inequalities and promoting healthy lifestyles.

5.      Supporting older people.

6.      Providing positive activities for young people.

7.      Supporting people to play an active role in their communities and to take   responsibility for improving their lives.

We used a range of evidence to help us identify these priorities, including the ‘Knowing Wychavon Communities’ report.
