Community Safety in Wychavon
Community Safety is about reducing crime, antisocial behaviour
and disorder. And particularly in a low crime area such as ours,
reducing the fear of crime and making people feel safe. It focuses
on social, environmental and economic causes of crime and its roots
within the community rather than on individuals.
The aim is to address community problems with community based
solutions. These are tackled by working in partnership
between statutory and voluntary agencies, businesses and community
groups.
Partnerships
Community partnerships are about recognising that the police
alone cannot eradicate crime and the causes of crime and
criminality. These are rooted in society as a whole and it is
therefore the role of society to identify local problems and local
solutions.
Information about the twelve local policing teams in Wychavon is
available from
West Mercia Police.
