Community Safety Partnership
What is the South Worcestershire Crime and Disorder Reduction
Partnership?
The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 placed a duty on local
authorities, county councils and the police to set up local
Community Safety partnerships to tackle crime and disorder in
District Council areas.
In 2003 the three statutory partnerships in South Worcestershire
(Malvern, Worcester City and Wychavon) merged to form a single
South Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership. Other partners
also had a statutory duty placed upon them to join that
Partnership.
Who is on the new Partnership?
The group includes representatives from:
- Wychavon District Council
- Malvern Hills District Council
- Worcester City Council
- Worcestershire County Council,
- Local Police Division,
- West Mercia Police Authority,
- H&W Fire Authority
- South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust
- West Mercia Probation Service
- Youth Offending Service
- Worcestershire Drugs and Alcohol Action Team
Partnership Aims
The aim of the Partnership is to improve the quality of life for
the people of South Worcestershire by focusing on the key areas
of;
- Tacking crime
- Providing reassurance
- Tackling anti social behaviour and disorder
- Reducing the harm caused by drugs and alcohol
