Neighbourhood Wardens and Safe and Sound Vehicle

Our Community Neighbourhood Wardens Trevor Clark and Frances Hayley provide a vital link between residents and local service providers, including landlords, the police and district and town councils. They both have vehicles so that all Wychavon residents, rural as well as urban, can receive the benefits the warden scheme has to offer. The wardens are a visible presence on the streets, providing reassurance and helping reduce anti-social behaviour, the fear of crime and crime itself.

The scheme started seven years ago and in that time the wardens have helped deliver and install over 5000 “Safe and Sound” security items free of charge to over 1700 crime victims and other vulnerable residents. They also offer mediation and help with issues like fly-tipping,

litter, graffiti and abandoned vehicles. Customers have commented "...we feel safer just knowing the wardens are there" and "...what a difference they have made, it's great to know we have someone we can go up and chat to".

The Community Neighbourhood Warden Scheme has proved so successful that our two wardens have now moved out of the towns of Evesham and Droitwich and are available to residents across the rest of the district.
