View the Councils for Communities film

Councils for Communities is a film about what councils in Worcestershire are doing to meet the different needs of communities in their areas. The film shows what can be achieved with a bit of planning, common sense and thinking about the different needs of residents. From a gym designed with disabled users in mind and a youth bus taking services out to young people, to tackling prejudice in the workplace, this film includes contributions from chief executives and local people. Presented in a upbeat way, its purpose is to motivate organisations to do more to meet the different needs of their communities.

Councils for Communities highlights eight projects in Worcestershire that are making a big difference to residents. These are:

  • Supporting the Chinese New Year in Redditch
  • Getting out to young people in Wychavon
  • Equalities training for waste collectors in Wyre Forest
  • Kidderminster Pride Festival in Wyre Forest
  • Building tolerance among staff in Worcestershire
  • The gym for all in Worcester
  • Helping people with access in Malvern
  • The Disabled Users Forum and BURT in Bromsgrove
