Special Collections From Domestic Properties

Special collections of waste items can be arranged with our contractor, FSS Services, at a charge of £18 per unit. This service is for waste items not collected on the free bulky waste service or for people who have used up their free collection entitlement.

To book your collection call FSS Services on 01386 760145 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

There is no limit to the number of units that can be collected, however for large quantities of waste or items not listed please telephone FSS for a quote, they may need to make a site visit to assess the waste.

FSS Services are unable to give a specific date for collection but it is usually within 5 working days. The item/s should be put out for collection by 7am on the first working day following payment. Loose waste should be in sacks/containers or bundled ready for collection.

For insurance purposes the contractor does not normally collect from inside the house, however if you are physically unable to leave the item outside please advise FOCSA Services of this when you call.

Fridges and freezers are charged by size as follows:-

Alternatively you may deposit fridges and freezers free of charge at the Household Waste & Recycling Centres

If the items are in good condition:

1.  Consider contacting re-use organisations in your area (normally a charity)
2.  Another good option is to place your bulky items on http://www.freecycle.org/
