Flood Advice
Insurance Advice for Flood Affected Households
Any residents experiencing flood damage should contact their
insurers as soon as possible, to get advice and financial support.

What we do:
- Promoting health and healthy lifestyles through training,
enforcement of smoking legislation, delivery of healthy lifestyle
programmes for children and families, working in schools and
attending many public events promoting ‘5 a day’ and smoking
cessation messages
- Inspection and
audit of over 1000 food businesses (from large manufacturers
where an issue will have national implications, to small local
retail outlets) looking at their food safety and hygiene
issues.
- Inspection of
workplaces to advise on and enforce health and safety at work
legislation
- Investigation of work related fatalities and major
accidents
- Participation in national health and safety at work campaigns
(asbestos, slips and trips, manual handling etc)
- Provision of advice to food businesses on compliance with food
safety and health and safety requirements
- Sampling at point of sale to ensure that food is safe to
eat
- Responding to complaints from members of the public regarding
the safety and quality of food
- Responding to complaints from members of the public nationwide
regarding safety and quality of food manufactured and produced in
Wychavon
- Infectious
diseases and illness caused by food; control of food poisoning
etc outbreaks.
- Review and assessment of air quality;
- Contaminated
land – requests for public information, investigations,
inspections
- Domestic
drainage (rural non-mains drainage, private sewers &
drains)
- Industrial
pollution – “permitting” and inspection of industrial polluting
processes;
- Investigation of nuisance complaints / public health issues
(nuisance noise from animals, commercial sources, construction,
entertainment, intruder alarms, neighbour noise, vehicle alarms
etc: nuisance from smoke, odours, dog fouling, defective sewerage
systems: dealing with filthy and verminous persons and premises,
paupers burials, exhumations etc);
- Dog warden
services including the seizure of dogs, dealing with fouling on
public land, stray dogs
- Provision of pest
control services (rats, mice, wasps etc);
- Providing professional advice on planning and licensing
applications;
- Sampling private water supplies to ensure that the water
is safe to drink;
- Licensing: administration and enforcement
in respect of...acupuncture, tattooing, ear-piercing &
electrolysis, animal boarding (cats and dogs), breeding of animals
(dogs), caravan sites, cinemas, club premises certificates,
community premises licences, dangerous wild animals, gambling
premises, game dealers, horse riding establishments, hackney
carriage (taxi), private hire vehicles/ drivers & operators,
indoor sports entertainment, late night refreshment houses,
lotteries (raffles), motor salvage operators, music and dancing
(public entertainment), personal licences for the sale of alcohol,
pet shops, premises licences, scrap metal dealers, sex
establishments, street collection permits, street trading, Sunday
trading, temporary event notices, theatres and zoos.
