Wychavon Warmer Homes
In 2007 we carried out a heat loss survey of the district. The
survey was conducted over five nights during February and March
2007. Using aerial thermal image based technology the results
were averaged and displayed on our online mapping database using a
simple colour scheme to indicate heat loss from homes and other
buildings.
In 2009, a thermal imaging survey of the whole of Worcestershire
was carried out as part of the Warmer Worcestershire
project. Visit Warmer
Worcestershire to find out how much heat your home is losing
today.
Please note: Certain heat sources on the
outside of the property (such as chimneys, some external flues,
solar panels etc.) may affect the results.
What the colours mean
|
If your property is red or
brown this indicates you are losing higher than
average heat. This could be due to poor insulation, inefficient
heating, poor heat control or you may have a very high heat source,
such as a open fire or wood burning stove.
If your property is yellow or
green this indicates that you are losing less heat
but don't be complacent and ensure that you check your home is well
insulated and has an efficient heating system.
Some buildings may be coloured green because
they were unoccupied at the time of the survey.
We hope information will be of use to encourage you to consider
the energy efficiency of your home or business.

Many residents may not realise that grant schemes can
substantially subsidise the cost of Energy
Efficiency improvements and Warmfront Grants can often help the
vulnerable with the full costs of heating and insulation.
