When you’re looking for a place to stay, you need a rating
system you can trust. The ratings are your clear guide to what to
expect, in an easy-to-understand form. Properties are visited
annually by trained, impartial assessors, so you can have
confidence that your accommodation has been thoroughly checked and
rated for quality before you make a booking.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATION - Ratings are awarded from
one to five Stars - the more Stars, the higher the quality and the
greater the range of facilities and level of services provided.
GUEST ACCOMMODATION - Covers a wide variety of
serviced accommodation including guesthouses, bed & breakfasts,
inns and farmhouses. Establishments are rated one to five Diamonds
- progressively higher levels of quality and customer care must be
provided for each of the one to five Diamonds.
GOLD & SILVER AWARDS - Are awarded to those
establishments which not only achieve the overall quality required
for their rating, but also reach the highest levels of quality in
those specific areas which guests identify as being really
important for them.
SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION - The more Stars
(from one to five) awarded to an establishment, the higher the
levels of quality you can expect.
CARAVAN & CAMPING ACCOMMODATION - Holiday
Parks, Touring Parks and Camping Parks are also assessed using
stars. You will now find progressively higher standards of quality
from one star (acceptable) to a five star (exceptional) park.
Under the National Harmonised Accommodation Scheme some
establishments are also graded by the AA or RAC to the same
standards.
