W Factor 2017

Wychavon District Council is looking for an experienced performing arts workshop leader and project manager to deliver our flagship project, The W Factor competition for 11-18 year olds (and related tour of 5 local events in the summer) across the district working with a wide range of individuals and arts groups. The project will nurture and develop performing arts talent across the district.

The W factor has been running for eight years and has auditioned hundreds of young people aged 11-18 years from Wychavon in music, drama, dance, singing, visual arts, film and alternative (comedy, circus skills etc). We have run seven large scale final shows at the Public Hall, Evesham, Evesham Arts Centre and Number 8 Arts Centre. The young finalists have then gone on to perform across the district at various local events and at Wychavon Party in the Parks.

Key Elements (minimum requirements)

  • Auditions x 3 (all late afternoon to early evening)- 17th January at The Old Library, Droitwich Spa, 18th January at The De Montfort School, Evesham and 19th January at Civic Centre, Pershore to include the provision of 1 other judge.
  • Show rehearsals and coaching x 13-15 (dependent on how many finalists we have). You may want to bring in external artists to rehearse an art form that is not your direct skill.
  • Produce W Factor final show (including all equipment & crew) (Dress rehearsal Sun 5th March, final show Mon 6th March)
  • Development, support and raising the profile of finalists throughout the summer through 5 performances at summer events and their consequent rehearsals.

Essential Requirements for the project

  • An enhanced DBS check less than 3 years old will need to be seen for any relevant staff to be used on the programme
  • Minimum £5 million public liability insurance (cert required)
  • Previous experience of project/programme management in a similar environment
  • Experience of editing and technical support
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Experience of producing live performing arts events
  • Experience of evaluating and monitoring projects
  • Certified child protection policy

The Council is using the e-procurement portal known as the Due North Pro-Contract portal https://procontract.due-north.com to conduct this procurement exercise.

 

To gain access to the procurement documents, suppliers will need to register their details at the above website. Once registered, suppliers will be emailed a log-in and password which will allow them to gain access to the procurement documents. Suppliers will need to electronically submit an expression of interest and electronic copies of the procurement documents will be sent.  

 

Suppliers should submit their completed Invitation to Quote (ITQ) and any accompanying documentation via the Due North portal by 12pm on 10/11/2016.

 

Any clarification questions should be submitted, via the Due North portal. Responses to clarification questions will be issued to all suppliers via the portal.

New shell only Waitrose Supermarket in Merstow Green, Evesham

The works will include the construction of the service yard and car parking areas in line with the approved plans (Planning ApplicationNo.14/ 02407). In addition to the above the works will include the diversion of existing services and installation of new incoming services, lifts and a HGV turntable within the service yard.


The contract period is fixed with a start on site being required on the 1st June 2017 with PC being required on the 9th March 2018. Access is to be provided to the Shell fit out contractor by the 12th January 2018. A JCT Design and Build (2011) contract will be used with substantial bespoke amendments and a Performance Bond and Parent Company Guarantee may be required. Contractor PI insurance of £10 million will be required.

To gain access to the pre qualification questionnaire (PQQ) document, tenderers will need to register their company details at the above website. Once registered, tenderers will be emailed a log-in and password which will allow them to gain access to the tender documents. Tenderers will need to electronically submit an expression of interest and an electronic copy of the PQQ will be sent as an attachment.

Tenderers should submit their completed PQQ document and accompanying documentation via the Pro-Contract on-line portal by 12:00 hours on 06/12/2016.

Any supplier questions queries will also need to be submitted via Pro-Contract portal website. Any clarifications and further tender documents will be issued via the Pro-Contract portal.
