Fiona Narburgh

Provides council wide direction and strategy. My teams cover strategy and communications, councillor support and customer services. Activities include managing the council’s performance against our priorities and promises; supporting our councillors in their council and community roles and making sure residents receive excellent customer service through our contact centres and website. Fiona also manages the elections team, community safety and the rural communities programme.

Key responsibilities:

Setting council wide strategy and direction; reputation management; internal and external communications, including website and design; consultation and market research; driving improvement and performance management; rural communities programme, diversity and equalities, community safety services, customer insight and business improvement.

Fiona also manages our member support team to support councillors in their roles, our community contact centres that provide our face to face services and our elections team too.

Fiona also leads on employee engagement and made a film on the topic for the LGA called ‘Thanks Goodness it's Monday!'

Career information:

Starting in the private sector in market research Fiona then moved into a community development role with Hereford and Worcester County Council in 1990, before roles in waste management and environmental management for Worcestershire County Council. Fiona moved to Wychavon in 2001 as Policy Officer and was promoted to the management team as Head of Strategy and Communications in 2003. In January 2016 she took on her current joint post for both Wychavon and Malvern Hills councils. She is contracted to work 32 hours.

Salary: £65,043 to £71,658   (pro-rata for 32 hour contract)
