Health Improvement

Wychavon District Council in partnership with Worcestershire County Council have developed a Health and Wellbeing Plan for the district. The aim is to promote, encourage and support partners to deliver programmes that contribute to healthier lifestyles in the Wychavon area.

Health & Wellbeing Plan 2014 - 2016

The plan outlines the local response to delivering against the Worcestershire Health and Wellbeing priorities, by creating and developing opportunities for residents to improve their health and wellbeing, whilst responding to local needs.

The main focus areas are:

  • Older People and management of Long Term conditions
  • Obesity
  • Metal Health
  • Alcohol
  • Health Inequalities

The Wychavon District Health and Well-being Plan shows the services and projects that are being delivered to tackle the causes of ill-health across the district (please note that this list is not exhaustive and other partners are also working towards similar outcomes).

To deliver this plan we work with organisations such as: Community and Voluntary organisations including volunteer centres, Age UK, Older Peoples Forums, Worcestershire County Council including children's centres, libraries, Wychavon District Council Departments – Community Development, Regeneration, Housing, Schools, Other health Improvement Coordinators, GP's, Physio's, Nurses, Clinical Commissioning groups and Leisure Providers.
