How To Comment On Planning Applications

When planning applications are submitted there is a comprehensive system in place which ensures that proposals are publicised in order to invite comments from the local community.  We are legally required to publicise all planning applications.  We do this by letter, and /or site notice, and/or press notices. Comments can be submitted by anyone and we advise you to view the details of the application and plans before submitting any opinions.

Please note: any hard or soft landscaping shown on planning applications may not be part of the application, therefore landscaping may not be approved as shown.  Plans can be amended at any time prior to approval.  If unsure please ask.

If you want make a comment about a planning application you can do so either on line or in writing at the address below .

Please note all information disclosed regarding an application is open to public inspection by anyone at our offices held in our paper file.

For security purposes all signatures and telephone contact details will be withheld from publication on our website, this includes applicant details and any comments we have received against an application (this will NOT apply to comments/objections posted directly to the website).  However, these will still be open to inspection to personal visitors at our Offices.

How To Comment Online

1. If you want to comment online please follow the instructions below:
2. Search for the specific planning application you wish to comment on.
3. Once the specific planning application has been found - click on the case number.
4. If the planning application has not yet been decided a 'Comment on this application' link will appear at the top of the details page.

How To Comment In Writing

Comments can be submitted in writing to our planning department at the Civic Centre.

Comments in writing will be scanned and made accessible on our website. To eliminate fraud you may wish to print your name rather than use your signature.

Further Information

When we receive your comments we will place them on the website.  All comments will be given full consideration in the determination of the applicaiton.  If you make any comments we will inform you of the decision.
