Wychavon Wellbeing (Activity Referral)
This 12 week programme is aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of people experiencing asthma, diabetes, mild depression, mild to moderate arthritis, obesity, osteoporosis, poor mobility, stable hypertension and stress.
The sessions are a mix of information sessions looking at diet, exercise and other aspects of healthy living followed by an exercise class designed for the needs of the group.
Strength and Balance classes
Strength and Balance exercise classes are for people who feel unsteady on their feet or have had a fall.
They aim to Improve balance and coordination, increase functional capacity, increase bone and muscle mass, improve confidence to reduce the fear of falling and are a chance to socialise
In each class, the instructor will guide participants through some exercises to help increase stamina and help with balance on the move. They will then work on exercises to help build muscle and bone strength and teach people how to get up from the floor safely should they have a fall. Finally, at the end of the class, there is some relaxation and stretching.
The classes cost £3 per class each week and last for about 1 hour with a chance to have a chat afterwards! Classes are held at community venues around Worcestershire.
