Wychmove

Our social lettings agency service will help you find an affordable privately rented accommodation, at no cost.

Newspapers

Look in all of the local newspapers, many people advertise their houses, flats, bedsits and rooms to let.

Letting agents

These agencies manage properties on behalf of landlords. Start your search for letting agents online or look for property adverts in the local papers. To find the most appropriate property, you may have to sign up to a few agencies. You will need to know from them, how much deposit is needed and if they require a month’s rent upfront. If you are in receipt of housing benefits, find out if the landlord accepts people on welfare benefits.

Notice boards

Look out for cards placed in newsagents windows or supermarket notice boards that are advertising rooms, flats or houses to rent (the rent is usually advertised to be cheaper).

Friends

Word of mouth is a good way of circulating information. Let all your friends, work colleagues and family know that you are looking for somewhere. You may find that some of your friends are also looking, and living together would make the rent cheaper.

College

If you are a student, you should contact your college to help you find somewhere to live.
