Welcome To Home Choice Plus
Before you register with Home Choice Plus
Social housing is in great demand and often people can wait a long time before being allocated a property through Home Choice Plus. We recommend that before you register with Home Choice Plus, you complete the Housing options self assessment which will provide you with alternative options to Social housing. This may mean being housed sooner. You can also complete this assessment if you have already registered with Home Choice Plus. To complete this assessment, please click on the links below:
Wychavon District Council in partnership with Bromsgrove District Council, Malvern Hills District Council, Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Worcester City and Wyre Forest District Council has developed a partnership, which will allow customers to look for social housing across all of these districts. This Choice Based Lettings scheme is call Home Choice Plus.
Home Choice Plus process has been designed to improve access to social housing across 6 districts in the West Midlands, by allowing you to view available properties and to place bids against properties that you are eligible for.
When you apply to join the scheme you will be given a registration number and your application will be banded according to your housing need.
Properties will be advertised on a weekly basis, called a 'bidding cycle'. The week starts on a Tuesday and continues until midnight the following Monday. You will be able to view properties and express an interest on properties which are suitable for you/your family's needs.
If you see a property you like, that you qualify for and would like to be considered for, you 'bid' for it. This can be done in a number of ways, such as: -
- Automated bidding line: 0845 270 0557
- In person
- Text message via your mobile phone: 07781 486644
You can check which properties will be advertised each week by calling the property line on 01386 565220. This line will have a pre-recorded message advertising the properties available for that particular week/cycle. This line will not take ‘bids' or ‘messages'.
Each week you will be able to bid for a maximum of three properties. At the end of the bidding cycle the applicant with the longest waiting time and the greatest housing need will be allocated the property.
