Inspirational people from Wychavon who have gone above and beyond for their community will be celebrated at an awards ceremony.
The annual Community Recognition Awards recognises ‘community heroes’ who, in 2018, have volunteered, coached or helped others and made the district a better place to live and work.
Wychavon District Council’s Community Development team is looking for inspirational stories from people of all ages who have helped to improve their neighbourhood, club, society or community in the past year.
The categories are:
- Young Volunteer award
- Volunteer award
- Arts Recognition award
- Sporting Hero award
- Community Project award
- Community Group award
- Enabling Healthy Lives award
- Lifetime Achievement award
The Community Recognition awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 7 March 2019 (by invitation only).
Tracy Grubb at Wychavon District Council, said: “It’s brilliant that we are doing the Community Recognition Awards again this year. We rely on volunteers to make things happen, so its right that they should be acknowledged for all the time that they have put in to making Wychavon a better place to live and work.”
To nominate the individual or organisation that you think deserves to win an award from the categories listed, simply complete an application form by visiting https://www.wychavon.gov.uk/recognitionaward and return it by 5pm Friday 1 February 2019.
