Community funding welcomed
Executive Board tonight signed off £77,000 worth of community investment based on the recommendations of Wychavon’s Localism and Community Funding Advisory Panel.
The funding which is made up of section 106 (developer contributions) and New Homes Bonus funding and is set to benefit a variety of worthy causes.
£13,950 of New Homes Bonus will be given to Norton-Juxta-Kempsey Parish Council towards A Sentry for the Century (Statue of a Worcestershire Regiment Soldier) project.
Over £60,000 of developer contributions, will be shared between three projects:
Up to £21,180 to Pershore Rugby Club to upgrade and extend their current single communal changing area
Up to £21,662.83 to Pinvin Parish Council to enhance the existing play area currently located on Main Street, Pinvin
£20.909.86 to Pebworth Parish Council to enhance play equipment located at Pebworth recreation ground
Cllr. Bradley Thomas, Leader of Wychavon said “"It’s great to see these projects receiving the funding they need to enhance their communities.
