Wychavon District Council is looking for the community heroes of 2017 for its annual Community Recognition Awards.
Open to the whole community, the awards give those who have volunteered, coached or helped others in the district a chance to gain well deserved recognition for their efforts in helping to make Wychavon a better place to live and work.
Wychavon District Council’s Community Development team is looking for inspirational stories from people of all ages who have helped to improve their neighbourhood, club, society or community.
The categories for 2017 are:
- Young Volunteer award
- Volunteer award
- Arts Recognition award
- Sporting Hero award
- Community Project award
- Community Group award
- Enabling Healthy Lives award
- Lifetime Achievement award.
Tracy Grubb, Community Development Officer at Wychavon District Council, said: “It’s brilliant that we’re doing the Community Recognition Awards again this year. We rely on volunteers to make things happen, so it’s only right that they should be acknowledged for all the time that they have put in to making Wychavon a better place to live and work.”
To nominate an individual, organisation or community group that you think deserves to win an award from the categories listed, simply complete a nomination form and return it by 5pm on Friday 2 February 2018.
Nomination forms are available at www.wychavon.gov.uk/recognitionaward. For more information or to talk through your nomination, please contact Tracy Grubb on 01386 565168 or email email@example.com.
The Community Recognition Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 8 March 2018 (by invitation only).
