Meet Your Council – Bowbrook

Wychavon District Council has another Meet Your Council event coming up in September, this time taking place in the Bowbrook Ward on Monday 11 September, between 9.30am and 5pm.

The event will see Councillor Margaret Rowley meet and chat with residents face-to-face at a number of locations including Crowle Parish Hall, Trench Wood, Hanbury Wharf and the Galton Arms in Himbleton.

The Meet Your Council events get councillors and council officers out to meet people in their wards. The events provide a positive way for residents and businesses to make sure that their views and suggestions are heard.

Councillor Margaret Rowley said: “On my last ward walk we looked at community facilities and community safety, joining Crowle Community Speed Watch for a session along with the Council’s Community Safety Officer,  visiting Oddingley Village Hall and  Crowle School, and hearing  about the Community First responders. The previous year, we visited a selection of businesses in the ward.
“This year, we will be looking at Wychavon’s role in protecting our heritage and natural environment.  In Crowle, we will be looking at the designated conservation area, whilst at Trench Wood I will be meeting Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and  some local residents (11am to 12 noon)  Between 12:30pm and 1:30pm, we will look at the canal corridor conservation area, and meet residents at Bridge 35 Chandlers.
“There is also an open invitation to residents to come along for a chat at Crowle Parish Hall (2 - 2.45pm.This will be followed by a visit to Himbleton to observe parking outside the school and to take a look at the Bow Brook and the proposed waymarked circular walk and amenity area (3pm to 4:30pm).  Finally we invite residents to meet and talk to us in  the Galton Arms (4.30pm – 5pm).”
Tracy Perkins, Localism and Communities Officer at Wychavon District Council, said: “This is a fantastic day-long programme that Councillor Rowley has put together and is a great opportunity for residents to come along, without the need to make an appointment, and chat to their councillor and our officers, and if they raise issues with us we can often do something to help.”
