Wychavon is encouraging people to think beyond the kitchen during a week long recycling awareness week.
Now in its 14th year – national Recycle Week is a celebration of recycling with this year’s theme – ‘Recycling – it’s worth it!’
Sharon Casswell, Client Services Manager for Wychavon said “This campaign week gives us an excellent opportunity to remind people about what they can recycle and to remember that recycling comes from all over the house. We’re great at remembering to recycle items in the kitchen, but sometimes we forgot that there’s a lot upstairs that can also be recycled like shampoo bottles and toilet rolls. Take a minute to think about what more you can recycle around your house and bring it downstairs with the rest of the recycling.”
Recycle Week is organised by WRAP under the Recycle Now brand. The aim of the week is to encourage residents to recycle more, by demonstrating the benefits of recycling items from all around the home.
Wychavon will be using animations and messages nationally developed to show residents how their recycling is turned into new items via their social media accounts.
