Boost to tourism with new plan

An exciting new plan for tourism has been agreed following Wychavon's Executive Board (6 February).

Wychavon committed to producing the plan in their 2018/19 promises and it is set to enhance the strong position the district already enjoys.

The highly detailed plan looks at the current strengths the area has – such as its quirky and high profile festivals and events, as well as looking at areas for improvement around destination branding and strengthening partnerships.

The plan focusses on four strategic themes:
  • Strengthen the tourism promotion and profile of Wychavon/ Worcestershire's Vale & Spa
  • Develop the strong and distinctive market town and rural visitor experiences
  • Build stronger partnerships between businesses and supporting organisations
  • Develop people and businesses

Cllr. Bradley Thomas, Leader of Wychavon said "This plan focuses on a many different areas and has a lot of complexity and levels to it. However, principally it's about continuing to put the area on the map but doing this in a more strategic and focussed way. We have so much to be proud of and that we know visitors love. This plan will really help us to boost our impact and bring additional prosperity to the area."
