Search begins for talented youngsters with the W Factor

The W Factor is back again for another year and Wychavon District Council is searching for the most talented young people in the district.

Open auditions are set to take place on the following dates:
Tuesday 19 November at Droitwich Spa High School from 5.30pm.
Wednesday 20 November at The De Montfort School in Evesham from 5.30pm.
Thursday 21 November at the Civic Centre in Pershore from 5.30pm.

The W Factor is open to performers and artists in school years 6-13 (aged between 11-18 by 31 August 20), that live in Wychavon. Participants can showcase their skills in such categories as dance, drama, music, singing (solo or in a group), DJ and Music Production and comedy.

The selected finalists will get to perform at the Number 8 Arts Centre in Pershore in a professional showcase final with industry standard production facilities on Monday 10 February 2020.

The final in 2019 saw 11 young people from across Wychavon compete in front of family and friends for the accolade of being crowned a winner in one of the four categories.

The winners will also get training from professional artists to help them develop and they will be able to perform at local events throughout the summer of 2020.

Tracy Grubb, Wychavon District Council's Community Development Officer, said: "It's a privilege to bring back The W Factor again to Wychavon. Over the years the competition has been brilliant for developing young artists, but it's also been great at helping those taking part to develop their confidence and build a strong personality, which will hopefully help them as they pursue their careers. We welcome young people of all abilities and with any additional needs to take part".
