One of our promises is to run a two year programme of workshops for parish and town councils and community groups on a range of topics that bring together successful examples and share best practice to enable others to implement their own solutions to local needs.
Details of the workshops we’re offering during 2018/19 are listed below. Click on the links for more details about each workshop and how to book a place. Booking is essential as we will only run a workshop if there are sufficient people attending.
Running a successful village hall
Saturday 20 October 2018
10am- 12noon and 1pm- 3pm at Wychavon Civic Centre, Pershore, WR10 1PT
This event will include a choice of five workshops over six sessions covering a range of topics. including understanding village halls, making a planning application, finance and funding, making the most of bookings and greening your village hall. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Setting up a community organisation and assessing the strength of your community

This workshop will outline the different types of community organisation and assess what is needed to set them up as well as giving some practical advice on assessing your community’s strengths and needs.
Developing an effective website
Monday 18 February 2019 | 2.30pm-4.30pm at Cropthorne and Charlton Village Hall, WR10 3LZ
This workshop will cover how to develop an effective website from getting the basics right to suggested website packages and examples of great community websites. We will also touch on social media and how you can use it to better engage with communities.
Finding the finance – identifying and applying for funding

This workshop will cover how to identify your funding needs and how to raise funds through a range of methods including sponsorship, fundraising and grant applications.

This workshop will look at the different stages in planning a consultation including who to consult, when to consult, which methods to use and what to do with the results. It will include examples of real consultation exercises and an opportunity for questions.
