Do you love where you live and would like to help keep it looking clean and tidy?
Then join the Wychavon Adopt a Street scheme and make a difference to your community.
All you have to do is sign the online pledge which includes:
- Telling us which area of land you would like to adopt (public land only unless you have permission from the landowner)
- A promise from you to litter pick your chosen site at least three times a year on dates of your choosing and at your convenience
The area you choose to litter pick can be as small or as large as you like. The scheme is open to individuals, schools and community groups.
You can use your black bin at home for disposing of any litter you collect.
If you cannot do this, or you have collected a large amount, then please use our online reporting system and click other request to let our contractor know where you have left them or to make arrangements to pick them up.
Community groups should pre-agree collection arrangements in advance in the same way.
In return for your commitment we will provide you with:
- Free Litter picking equipment and bags (limited to 10 sets for community groups/schools)
- Guidance on health and safety
We will still be carrying out our litter picking and street cleansing duties as well as a range of other activities to encourage people to dispose of their litter responsibly. Together we can help keep Wychavon clean and tidy.
Requests made after Tuesday, 30 March 2021 will not be processed until the week starting 19 April 2021.
Current adopted roads/streets/areas
This is a list of the current pdf adopted roads/streets (177 KB) . Do not worry if your road/street/area has already been adopted. In some cases people will be picking different stretches of the same road/street. This was last updated on 21 December 2020.
Organisations signed up to Wychavon Adopt a Street
We are grateful to all those pdf organisations that have already signed up (20 KB) to the scheme and committed to helping keep the area around their school, business or community space free from litter. This was last updated on 21 December 2020.
Arranging collection of bags
If you cannot dispose of the litter you collect in your black bin (or with your back sacks if on a sack collection) then please contact our contractor FCC using our online reporting system and click other request.
Send us your litter picking information
If you are already one of our Adopt a Street volunteers, then let us know how much litter you are collecting by using our online form,
You do not have to do this, but the information you send us will help us build a better picture of the litter problem across district and allow us to take more targeted action.
Please do not use this link to report littering. See our littering page for information on how to report littering.
