We are asking children across Wychavon to get creative during the Covid-19 lockdown with the ‘Let’s Spread Some Sunshine’ competition.

To help us brighten up the district and to celebrate the work of our fantastic bin crews, we are encouraging children to pick up their pens, pencils, crayons and paints to make colourful pictures and leave them out on their bin when it's next collected.

To say thank-you, every child that leaves a picture will receive a packet of sunflower seeds for them to plant in gardens, window boxes and pots across Wychavon. The owner of the tallest sunflower will then receive a prize from FCC Environment.

The competition has been launched by Wychavon District Council and its waste and recycling partner, FCC Environment. Over the last couple of weeks, the crews from FCC Environment have been overwhelmed by the volume of kindness they have received from the community, with handwritten notes and drawings being left on their bins by residents and children.

How to get involved:

  1. Download a picture to colour in pdf here (427 KB)  or draw your own picture and leave it on your waste, recycling or garden waste bin on the next collection day.
  2. You will receive a packet of sunflower seeds to plant.
  3. Take a photo of your sunflower and send it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

Please note: The judge’s choice of winner is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
