Wychavon District Council and Worcester City Council whilst being supported by Worcestershire County Council are hosting Stage 4 of the OVO Energy Womens Tour on Saturday 16 June 2018. The event is the biggest women's cycle race in the world and the first time it is visiting the county and therefore a big opportunity for the locations involved.
The route and key locations
The start town is Evesham and the finish is Worcester with the stage covering a lot of south east Worcestershire. Other key locations to be visited are Pershore (approx. 10.53am), Broadway (sprint approx 11.44am), Glos (climb approx 11.47am ), Snowshill (approx 11.49am), Atch Lench (climb approx 12.44pm), Inkberrow (sprint approx 1.10pm) Droitwich (approx 1.41pm) The Stage 4 route will largely be in Worcestershire but for a small amount in Gloucestershire and Warwickshire. 8:00am – Team Buses arrive (Merstow Green)
9:00am – CEV Presentation (podium)
9:30am – Riders sign in (podium)
10:15am – Local ride out (start line)
10:30am – Official Stage Start
‘Tremendous’ Entertainment with the ‘Hedgemen’ and Street Performances from 8.30am until 11.30am.
Full road closures will be in place from 4.00am until 1.00pm to all vehicular traffic. These road closures are also required for rider and spectator safety and have been endorsed by West Mercia Police and Worcestershire County Council.
Abbey Road, Merstow Green, Vine Street and Lower High Street will be closed up to the junction of Avon Street / Swan Lane. This also includes Merstow Green Car Park, the Market Square and Bridge Street.
Northbound traffic will not be able to travel though the town centre but access is still available for people using the leisure centre and for parking on Crown Meadow. Abbey Lane will remain open and Merstow Green will be made 2 way (with traffic lights) to allow access to Boat Lane and Merstow Place.
Southbound traffic will be diverted down Oat Street. Mill Street will be made 2 way (with traffic lights) with traffic being sent over Workman Bridge and then turning right onto Waterside to continue southbound. Please note there will be a road block at the entrance of Mill Bank but you may get access to Common Road via Conduit Hill.
The Market Square and Merstow Green Car Park will be closed and all vehicles must be removed from 7:00pm on Friday 15th June. Bridge Street will remain open until 7:00am on the 16th June but all vehicles must be removed by 7:30am and exit right onto the high street.
The rolling closure for the event route, other than the start and finish, will typically be through a rolling 30 minute closure window.

Parking in Evesham
All car parks in Evesham will be open as normal (except Merstow Green). We recommend spectators to park on the Crown Meadow which is then a short 5 minute walk through Abbey Park, up to the Bell Tower and into the Vine Street/Market Square.
Bus stops on the High Street will be temporarily moved further down the High Street, near to the Taxi rank (there will be signs for this) There will be no taxi rank on the lower High Street due to the road closures.
