A regeneration specialist has been appointed to help drive forward Wychavon’s vision for Droitwich Spa.
Mark Martin, Chair of ONE Creative environments (ONE), is the new Chair of Wychavon’s Droitwich Spa Place Board. He brings with him more than 35 years’ of experience in urban design, landscape architecture and major infrastructure with extensive expertise across regeneration, transport, health, education and sustainable development.
He has also held several senior strategic roles including Chair of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership Business Board, Director of Malvern Hills Science Park and a board member of Catalyse Angel Network, a regional investment group that connects early start-ups with investors in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. He has also been a Worcestershire Ambassador for several years.

Mr Martin will be tasked with building on the good work of the Place Board to date and continuing to work in partnership with Wychavon, Droitwich Spa Town Council, local businesses and the community to deliver the vision in the Droitwich Spa Investment Prospectus.
This will include supporting delivery of the multi-million regeneration of Droitwich Spa Lido as well as public realm improvements, creating new leisure and cultural experiences, place branding initiatives and tackling vacant units.
Mr Martin said: “It's a real privilege to take on this role and build on the excellent work the Place Board has already done.
"This is an exciting time for Droitwich Spa. We have significant investment going into the Lido, opportunities to improve our public spaces and a real chance to strengthen the town's reputation as a destination for leisure, health and wellbeing.
“I’m looking forward to working with fellow board members and local partners to unlock new opportunities and help make Droitwich Spa an even better place to live, work, visit and invest.”
Cllr Richard Morris, Leader of Wychavon, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Mark as Chair of Wychavon’s Droitwich Spa Place Board. We’re already investing significantly in Droitwich Spa but there is much more we want to achieve and the huge amount of experience and expertise Mark brings will be invaluable as we look to build on the Board’s work and deliver more of the vision we have for the town.”
Wychavon established three place boards in Droitwich Spa, Evesham and Pershore in 2022 to bring together expertise from the business and community sectors to support the three town centres and deliver the vison in the investment prospectuses.
