Summit puts spotlight on
hospitality support

Date published:  22 October 2026

Pubs, restaurants, cafés, attractions and accommodation providers are invited to discover the help on offer as part of Wychavon's drive to support the district's hospitality industry.

Wychavon is holding its first hospitality summit at The Wood Norton, Evesham, on Monday 2 November from 9am to midday. The free event will bring the sector together to find out about funding, training and marketing support.

Businesses will also be able to have their say on what further support they need and how the council can help the sector in future.

Hospitality is a key part of the district’s visitor economy, which has now grown to more than £197 million, and supporting the sector is a priority in the council’s We Are Wychavon Plan.

Support on offer includes grants from the Wychavon Growth Fund for projects enabling businesses to grow, while funding towards apprenticeship costs is also available.

Representatives from the Worcestershire Growth Hub will be attending the summit to talk about the training and skills support available, while staff from Visit Worcestershire will highlight how businesses can get involved with their hospitality-based campaigns.

Cllr Richard Morris, Leader of Wychavon and Executive Board Member for Economic Growth and Tourism, said: “Our hospitality businesses make a vital contribution to not only Wychavon’s economy but also to the life of the district. We want to do everything we can to help them thrive and this summit is about connecting people with the wide range of support available. It’s also a chance for us to listen to the sector and find out what more we could be doing.”

Hospitality businesses can book a free place by visiting www.wychavon.gov.uk/summit which will redirect to the booking page on Eventbrite.
