This is the number one priority for us and we're doing all we can to help you.  We work in partnership with Worcestershire Business Central which is part of the Government supported growth hub network, bringing all aspects of business support into one place, making it clear and simple for businesses to access and find the help they need.

Whether you are looking to launch a start-up, expand your current business or make your operations more resource efficient, you will most likely require some financial support.

Wychavon District Council business start up grant

Our start up programme is available to support business to consumer businesses at the pre-start stage, working with an advisor in workshops and one to one advice sessions.

When the programme has been completed and your business plan has been approved, you can apply to us for a grant of up to £500, or up to £750 if you are moving into business premises that are liable to business rates. The grant must be match-funded, pound for pound from your business's own resources. Only capital expenditure is eligible.

Wychavon District Council business booster grant

A grant of £750 is available for Evesham businesses that have been trading for more than one year and have a small project that will contribute to business development. The grant must be match-funded, pound for pound from your business's own resources. Only capital expenditure is eligible.

Worcestershire County Council secured almost £10m of European funding, to deliver a range of business support programmes with financial contributions from their district council partners to help businesses start, grow and invest in Worcestershire, available until September 2019.  The programmes have been very successful and many Wychavon businesses have benefitted from business advice and grant funding.   More funding has been applied for to extend these programmes.

Enterprising Worcestershire business start up

Enterprising Worcestershire can now offer an increased grant amount of £1000 - £2500.  Businesses under 36 months old and trading 70% business to business may apply.  The call for applications was opened on 3 September and will close on 1 October August.  For an application form and guidance for eligibility, please click here.

Worcestershire Business Accelerator

This scheme delivered capital and revenue grants from £5,000 up to £20,000 to growing businesses that have been trading for 2 years or more. The grant funding is now fully committed, however the business support element of the scheme is still available including access to one-to-one consultancy support as well as access to seminars and workshops on a wide range of business topics.

Investing in Growth

The Investing in Growth Programme will provide a bespoke support package for Worcestershire businesses to ensure they are investment ready in order that they may access local, regional and national funding programmes to reach their growth potential.  Grants of up to £50,000 will be available to support businesses to make a significant change in their development, to access new markets, innovate, diversify and generate business.

Be Cyber Secure

The Be Cyber Secure programme will provide a comprehensive package of cyber security support which may lead to Cyber Essentials Certification opening new markets and opportunities for growth.  Where appropriate, revenue and capital cyber secure grants up to £20k will be available to enable the development of cyber security within your business and support survival and growth.

Cyber growth grants, capital and revenue up to £20k will also be available for local cyber businesses to develop products, new markets and enable expansion.

Business Energy Efficiency Programme – BEEP

BEEP will help your business to save energy and cut costs.  The programme is still offering free energy reviews which comprise an assessment offering 2 days of support worth up to £1,000 to assess your equipment, premises, processes and performance to find opportunities for improvements in energy usage.  The aim is to help local businesses to manage and reduce costs, while improving their environmental impact.  Following the assessment, you will receive a report containing recommended actions, and the project team will help you to identify sources of funding for energy efficiency.

Market Engagement – Energy and Resource Efficiency Advice to Small and Medium Sized Businesses

Worcestershire County Council is looking to commission the continuation of an existing service to provide Energy and Resource Efficiency Advice to Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SME's) in Worcestershire and Herefordshire, Telford & Wrekin and Shropshire.

They would like, at this tentative stage in the development of proposals, (and prior to formulating any formal procurement opportunity), to seek input from the market as to what the appetite might be for undertaking these services. Additional, they would like to invite interested organisations to meet with us for an informal discussion around service delivery.

Low Carbon Opportunities Programme

The Low Carbon Opportunities Programme is offering free renewable energy or low carbon innovation assessments to small businesses, which could lead to grants to either install a renewable energy system, or undertake a low carbon innovation project.

Grants of up to 45% of the total cost of a project (to a maximum contribution of £100,000 for capital, £50,000 for revenue) are available.

For general information and guidance will all planning matters.

Pre-Planning Application

Arrange for a pre-planning application advice meeting. The fee for this is waived where a planning proposal creates employment opportunities.

Advice that raises awareness of schemes and increases the uptake of micro generation schemes.
