We want to make it as easy as possible for you to start, run and grow your business in Wychavon. This is the number one priority for us and we're doing all we can to help you.  We work in partnership with Worcestershire Business Central which is part of the Government supported growth hub network, bringing all aspects of business support into one place, making it clear and simple for businesses to access and find the help they need.

Funding

Whether you are looking to launch a start-up, expand your current business or make your operations more resource efficient, you will most likely require some financial support.

Grant funding and support for Wychavon businesses will be available from 2017 via a new package of European Regional Development funded programmes for start up and growing businesses. Visit the Worcestershire Business Central website for funding updates.

 

Current Schemes

Wychavon’s Business Booster Grant

A grant of £750 is available for Evesham businesses that have been trading for more than one year and have a small project that will contribute to business development.

Start up funding

A programme to support start up businesses at the pre-start stage, working with an advisor with one to one advice.

Once the programme has been completed and your business plan has been approved, you can apply to the Council for a grant of up to £500, or up to £750 if you are moving into business premises that are liable to business rates. The grant must be match-funded, pound for pound from your business's own resources. Only capital expenditure is eligible.

Business Energy Efficiency Programme – BEEP

Programme offering free energy reviews and grants up to £20,000. BEEP will help local businesses to manage and reduce costs, while improving their environmental impact.

Proof of Concept

The Proof of Concept fund will provide grants of up to 50% of the total cost of a project (to a maximum contribution of £30,000) for businesses to prove that their innovations have significant economic potential.  It can support SME’s to investigate, advance, commercialise and protect early stage innovative business ideas, through a partnership with the Central Technology Belt (CTB).  The grant encourages businesses to bring new products to market and introduce new products to the business, which will result in increased economic benefit and job creation in Worcestershire.

The programme is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020. The call for applications is now open, and will remain open subject to funding.

LEADER

A programme of grants between £2,500 and £35,000 for setting up or growing a rural business.

Your idea must make a contribution to the rural economy; either directly by creating or safeguarding jobs and/or growing a business or indirectly through activity that will make a difference to the local economy. You must be a micro or small enterprise, a farmer, a community group or a charity.

LEADER is part of the Rural Development Programme for England and is delivered locally by Worcestershire County Council and the Worcestershire Local Action Group on behalf of Defra.

Planning Advice

For general information and guidance will all planning matters

Pre-Planning Application

Arrange for a pre-planning application advice meeting. The fee for this is waived where a planning proposal creates employment opportunities.

Micro renewable energy schemes

Advice that raises awareness of schemes and increases the uptake of micro generation scheme.
