Apprenticeships are vital to businesses because they provide a practical route to develop skilled, motivated employees while helping employers address skills gaps, improve productivity and build a sustainable workforce for the future. Wychavon District Council is funding various measures to encourage the creation of more apprenticeship positions, as detailed below.
For more information about how apprenticeships can make a difference to your business please watch the following case study with Hive Support Services.
Wychavon Apprenticeship Employer Grants
Wychavon businesses can access grants of £1,500 to support the creation of apprenticeship opportunities. These grants are funded by Wychavon District Council and administered by Worcestershire Apprenticeships.
To learn more about the grant visit Grants & funding - Worcestershire Apprenticeships.
National Apprenticeship Support
A package of incentives funded by central government and designed to make hiring young apprentices significantly more attractive, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses is now available.
The government is offering up to £5,000 in stacked incentives for employers who hire young apprentices in 2026. Four separate payments are available depending on your size, the apprentice’s age, and their circumstances.
To find out more about the new incentives available get in touch with the Worcestershire Growth Hub team.
Additional Support
Additional support is available through Worcestershire Apprenticeships who offer impartial information, advice, guidance, and support to help businesses throughout the apprenticeship process:
